1 – Free Build – build whatever they want using the Legos in their bag and their base plate. – 20 minutes after official start of camp. Allow students to start on this while children are arriving.

2 – About 5 minutes to look at each other’s creations and another 5 minutes to take creations apart and place Legos back into their bags

3 – Marble Maze – create a maze that is 2 bricks tall and goes around the base plate. Leave an opening that is 4x wide in two places. Construct a maze in the interior of your base plate – 20 minutes.

4 – 5-10 minutes to play with each other’s mazes and 5 minutes to take the mazes apart and place Legos back into the bags

5 – Build an animal – 20 minutes to build a free-standing animal

6 – About 5 minutes to look at each other’s animals and 5 minutes to take creations apart and place Legos back into their bags

7 – Build a tall tower – work alone or in teams of 2 or 3 – 20 minutes. Build a tower as tall as you can that can hold a tennis ball on the top

8 – 5 minutes to test the towers. 5 minutes to take towers apart and place Legos back into their bags

9 – Bowling – create 9 bowling pins using 2×2 blocks – set up on a flat surface and use a small ball to bowl – 10 minutes

10 – 15 minutes to bowl and 5 minutes to take the creations apart and place Legos back into the bags – may straws

11 – Clean up

The kids love to build and they love to look at what others have made so I always build time in to sharing creations. I also take pictures of everyone’s creations each time and send the parents a link to a Google Photo Album I create for each session. The kids like being able to show parents what they have done but I can’t let them keep everything they build until the end or I’d never get everything taken apart.

This can be adapted for an after school Lego Club. I usually charge $4 for a 45 – minute session – based on our aftercare charges.
