Last fall I taught my annual Animoto lesson where my students create Animoto videos advertising their choice for the Caldecott Award. I pull books from my collection as well as books from the public library that meet the criteria.

This year the students chose the following books for their projects:

Bear Came Along by Richard Morris Amazon

Nobody Hugs a Cactus by Carter Goodrich Amazon
Carl and the Meaning of Life by Deborah Freedman Amazon
Another by Christian Robinson Amazon
Why? by Laura Vaccaro Seeger Amazon
This past week we presented the fifth graders Animoto projects to other elementary classes. The students and adults who viewed the videos were allowed to vote for their choice for the Caldecott.
And our winner is…..
We’ll find out soon if the Caldecott committee agrees with my students.
